In the various contexts of social and health care, we continue to suffer from the lack of effective communication between health and social workers on the one hand, and patients/family members on the other, which has further worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic 19. The "Therapeutic Communication" introduced more than thirty years ago by Vera Maillart enhances the relationship with the patient and his intra- and extra-family resources by offering social-health workers the use of adequate communication skills. An example of such teaching is the course held at the Ser.D of Borgo San Lorenzo in Florence in the years 2019 2022, thanks to which significant improvements have been introduced in the relationship between operators and in the assistance practices between operators and users.
