The evolution of contemporary welfare is increasingly influenced by the intersection of economic crises, social inequalities and ecological imbalances. This article considers the challenges facing social work in relation to the “super wicked problems” caused by climate change. In this context, EcoSocial Work and collective learning are fundamental tools for addressing the challenges posed by the triple welfare crisis. The aim of this article is to analyse how perceptions of new ecosocial risks and collective learning processes can support effective decisionmaking mechanisms in contexts of uncertainty; the transformative approach of EcoSocial Work emerges as a necessary perspective for addressing these challenges and developing practical models of intervention. The authors aim to trace and highlight some of the dynamics that facilitate the response to vulnerabilities linked to climate change and socioeconomic transformations.
