The Sacco Valley is conceptualized as a threshold space, shaped by persistent tensions between its agrarian heritage, forced industrialization, and subsequent deindustrialization processes.. Its ruins serve as catalysts for critical reflection on spatial practices, vulnerability, and environmental justice. This contribution employs the concept of resonance as an interpretive framework for analysing the evolving relations between territory and community. From this perspective, loss—both materially embedded and affectively experienced—can, when acknowledged as a condition of shared vulnerability, function as a generative force in reconfiguring modes of care, governance, and collective management of territorial commons. Resonance thus serves as a critical analytical device, enabling the articulation of wounds and possibilities, memory and project. In the interplay between historical layers and contemporary pressures, the emerges as a relational assemblage—an active milieu where social, material and environmental elements interact to produce meaning and create opportunities for ecological, situated, and collective forms of design.

Keywords: inbetween Italy; resonance; precarity.
