The paper summarizes the changes introduced in the Cuban legal system regarding sources of filiation after the passage of the Family Code in September 2022. It starts by explaining the source system that operated before the new law and how it became necessary to reform it after the 2019 Constitution came into force. The consistency with the constitutional system of the introduction of figures such as adoption by same-sex couples, the regulation of heterologous assisted reproduction techniques, or the regulation of multi-parenting and gestational solidarity is then studied. In each case, the characteristics of the figures are analyzed, as well as the critical issues of some of them, concluding, however, that the Cuban legislature did well to incorporate into infra-constitutional norms the plurality of family situations that manifest socially and required regulatory attention after the rejection of traditional law.
