The growth of logistics is redefining production territories, compromising soil, altering ecological balances, and spoiling the landscape quality. This issue offers a transversal exploration of the phenomenon, with contributions that analyze logistics’ economic, environmental, spatial, and social implications, offering interpretative tools to guide urban and territorial policies, plans and projects. The fragmentation of policies and the weakness of coordinated supra-local planning represent the central issues to be addressed for effectively managing the transformations, highlighting the need for tools that combine logistics development with environmental sustainability, territorial cohesion, and landscape regeneration.

Keywords: governance; large-scale spatial planning; environmental impacts
