AB -   The structural model of drives deals with a two-pole organization useful to the conflict aetiology of the psychoneuroses, that Freud opposes to Jung’s idea of a monistic libido. The school of object relationships highlights affects, while ego psychology marks on the ego  functions of adaptation and the role of representations. In the confrontation with infant research, psychoanalytic development theories can be scientifically validated by experimental observation. In particular, psychoanalysis, attachment theory and interactive-cognitive trend join themselves in the theory of Internal Working Models (Bowlby) or Generalized Interaction Representations (Stern). Recent advances in neurosciences about memory further  support this theory, intertwining it with that  of the therapeutic change.
