The globalization progress pose each territorial system over against new competitive pressures, this new process impose to reconsider and to model competitive strategies for new scenarios. Territorial systems often prefer to accept the uniformity’s guidance, in this way they renounce and do not protect their peculiarity; this choice in the long term could lay today’s resource endowment on the line, then it will limit the future prospective of well-being. In view of these observations, the following review gives a cue of considerations about the importance of territoriality to realize a sustainable globalization and it highlights how the identity protection is the driver to avoid that local systems have to give up with respect to the dynamics of globalization.
