The article analyzes the expansionist movement of the Ansaldo Company of Genoa towards eastern European countries towards the end of the first World War. The authors focuses in particular on industrial projects concerning the oil sector and infrastructures like ports, railways and airways implemented by the Perrone Brothers’ management in Romania. The paper points out weak and strong points in Italian industrial policy and highlight the constraints from Euroepean industrial powers.
