For the past ten years, Italian prisons have been covered by pages of paper. Usually written by hand, since the use of the computer is mostly impossible in our detention houses, photocopied and sent by post would seem decidedly outdated. Instead, they are the sign that something is moving in our penal institutions. These are the pages written by the prisoners to take part in a literary competition that has now reached its tenth edition.
