The paper addresses the issues of the impact of digital revolution on work and enterprise. The changes brought about by the technological innovations are contradictory, both in terms of construction or destruction of employment and in terms of casualisation of work or growing autonomy and participation of workers in the work organisation. As subordinate and autonomous work is moving towards new risks and an unprecedented vertical differentiation, the paper analyses how labour law can cope with these new regulatory challenges by combining distinctive and universalistic forms of protection.
