The author aims to explore the history of family mediation in Italy in the past twenty years. Two different practice models are compared: the facilitative vs. therapeutic model according to low or high conflict and family funcioning. Regarding family mediation process is discussing the notion of "Mediatable Frame" that emerges from negotiation between parties and mediator. A case history material is reported and discussed.
