Nave (BS) was one of the protagonists of the "industrial revolution" of the 1950s, that shifted to a production-steel side, a reality previously hinged on agriculture and artisanal paper production: in this radical transformation there are persistences and discontinuities, mobilizations and worker-entrepreneur solidarity, modernization and exploitation. Nave is a useful case-study to define a cultural framework that enabled industrialization; Nave was for half a century the archetype of an explosive development that already contained within itself, boom and crisis, two sides of the same ecological conflict.
