Moving from Revelli’s thesis, the author stresses six dimensions of globalization, which can be grouped in three couples. The first one is made of the descriptive images of economic and computer globalization; the second couple is made of the normative images of the globalization of law and politics, which are linked to the universalistic ideals of human rights and democracy. Between the first two couples there is an irremediable tension. A third couple is made of the globalization of fear and war, images which emerged after September 11th. A seventh dimension is the one Bovero defines "left-wing globalization", which is identified with the no-global movement.
