In the last 20 years Health psychology has undergone a lot of changes at theoretical and methodological level. The most relevant theoretical models focused on self regulation concept (see Leventhal’s and Bandura’s models), with particular attention to the cognitive and motivational aspects, that push the individuals to (to not) adopt specific health related behaviours. From the other end, methods of investigations are increasingly devoted to change behaviour rather than simply to understand the processes involved. The present work intends to underline the importance to put at the centre of attention the concept of health as relational common good, which overcome the single individual to become responsibility and investment of the community. Finally, a methodology will be presented used to construct projects aimed to the pursuit of shared goals of health, related to the Local Plans of Health of the Region Emilia- Romagna and to their impact on the health policies through active participation processes. Key words: health psychology, common good, local plan of health
