The fear of losing one’s job is like an abyss, it causes disease, distress and underlines the burden of family economic responsibilities. Male heads of family break down and housewives look for a job. This happens in factories, building enterprises and with migrant workers. The workers are self-sufficient persons that have to fight global economy barehanded. Marchionne explained to the workers of Fiat Pomigliano that the company and themselves had to decide whether to stay in or out of the global market.
