The aim of this paper is to analyze the role of linguistic praxis in Cosa Nostra. In particular, the main focus is on the relation between identity processes and the use of language. This leads to such questions as the following: How do linguistic choices contribute to shaping one’s sense of belonging to the Cosa Nostra group? And, symmetrically, how do those choices contribute to the construction of a reference identity model?
