This article illustrates a research on Family and Adolescence Several studies highlight that adolescence is a critical period of the family life cycle during which some dysfunctional behaviours might manifest and result in serious disorders. According to the literature about studies carried out from a relational and systemical point of view concerning families with members experiencing food disorders or drug addiction during adolescence, these disorders are the expression of the same way of functioning of disfunctional familes. Starting from this assumption, this article represents a research protocol aiming at assessing if these families share the same affective and communication styles. The assesment has been carried out through three questionnaries: 1st) Intimacy scale of the family (Cusinato, 1993); 2nd) Family Resource Inventory (Cusinato, Cristante, 1995); 3rd) Family Assessment Device (Epstein, Baldwin, Bishop, 1993) which were administered to the two experimental groups as well as to the control group.
