The study analysed the relationships between psychological well-being and time perspective in an adolescents’ group (mean age 16.65) and in a group of young-adult (mean age 22.57). The adolescents were split in two groups, middle and late adolescence. In the youngadult we observe an higher score in future time perspective than in adolescents. Youngadults have an higher score on future time perspective than adolescents, while they reports a lower score on present time perspective than adolescents. Psychological well-being shows higher score in the young-adult than in adolescents. Three separate correlational analysis were conducted and an analysis of covariance was conducted in order to verify the influence of age in the intercorrelations between time perspective and well-being. In the adolescent groups present time perspective is positively correlated with positive relations with others, while it is negatively correlated with purpose in life and with general psychological wellbeing. In young-adult it is negatively correlated with general well-being. Future time perspective is positively correlated with self-Acceptance, with environmental mastery, with purpose in life and with general well-being in the adolescent’s groups and in the young-adult’s group. In young-adult it shows positive correlations with selfacceptance, with environmental mastery, with purpose in life, with personal growth and general well-being. The results highlight the growing relevance of future time perspective for the development and the actualisation of resources and potentials during the passage from adolescence to young-adult and the role of present time perspective for social relationships in adolescence only.
