While the first report focuses on the theoretical tools used in the research, the second one tackles the practical side of the social inclusion of young immigrants. First of all, some data facilitate drawing a comparison between general situation of immigrants in Italy and in Spain and specifically Sicilian problems. The first practical difficulties identified and solved when the immigrants arrive in Sicily are the evaluation of their scholastic qualifications or skills, followed by their potential integration into the Italian school system. In order to establish a more precise knowledge-base about young immigrants in Sicily, the "Le Vele" Foundation of Pavia conducted an on-the-spot investigation that is described in this paper in brief. In the following report, the sociologists from the University of Pavia describe their empirical research in greater detail.
