Does communicating something lead to some form of sharing with others about what was communicated? Can communication establish collaborative links? Web 2.0 makes a virtually unlimited quantity of knowledge and contacts available with extreme ease. Communicating means sharing and building shared values. Each form of communication is inherently dialogical, it authorizes reciprocity, promotes sharing, opens the way to various forms of exchange. The article debates the particular nature of capital channeled from social networks, on the basis of a research on the Facebook pages created after the earthquake in May 2012 in Emilia-Romagna. In the context of particular risk and insecurity, like earthquakes, social networks are able to provide tangible and intangible resources to cope with uncertainty.
