The text presents the symposium held in Macerata on March 29, 2012 in honor of prof. Carlo Alberto Graziani, describing his forty years of engagement in differ- ent scientific disciplines, but substantially converged on the issue of land and its discipline. The commitment and studies of Carlo Alberto Graziani started already in the early 70s, in an atmosphere of extraordinary vitality, and this commitment involves Journals and the same teaching. Carlo Alberto Graziani gave a always vigilant and thorough contribution to the legal landscape, connecting the legal processing to real paths of Agriculture and never escaping the primary responsibility of the jurist to innovate, rather than linger on a passive exegesis. In line with his socio-ideal sensitivity, the thought of Carlo Alberto Graziani, from the initial contributions on the right to land, came to the centrality of land rights. The conference of Macerata wanted to honor Carlo Alberto Graziani: the teacher, the scientist, the man, the friend who showed all us the impeccable technique of the jurist, but, at the same time, ready to open new ways.

Keywords: Carlo Alberto Graziani, Land, Rights, Ownership.
