The paper focus on three themes: the role of the school today; the psychological research concerning school; the role of the ICT. In regard to the first theme, the author identifies research on drop-out as the most innovative field in the last years not only for its results, but also for its methodology, which suggests a symmetric relationship among the different partners. About the psychological research concerning the school, the author indicates the reductionism as the worst danger for this field because it obscures the complexity of the educational aspects in the school. Considering the ICT, the adults working in the school are viewed as the biggest problem, because they are highly reluctant to share a large and pervasive use of these tools, and this is an authentic obstacle to the relationship with the students.

Keywords: School innovations, school drop out, research evaluation, school as natural context, adult learning and ICT.
