This essay examines Fausta Cialente’s political and cultural activity for Radio Cairo, the British radio station Cialente worked for as an editor and speaker between 1940 and 1943. This experience preceded and was particularly important for the creation of the journal "Fronte Unito", which Cialente directed between 1943 and 1946. The radio propaganda she carried out should be understood as part of a difficult and innovative journey of consciousness and civic engagement, in which the decision to take on political responsibilities coincided with the rediscovery of a national identity and a sense of urgency to participate in the democratic renewal of her country.
