Tourism often consists of public authorities, companies and non profit organisations that decide to cooperate with each other to market and promote a specific product, a specific tourist area or to campaign to raise awareness about a specific issue. To accomplish these and other public purposes public authorities and private organisations often may set up public-private partnerships (PPPs). Local Action Groups, which are provided for by EU law, fall under PPPs. The article will analyse their public tasks and legal characters.
