In Iran, at least since the establishment of the Islamic Republic, women are renegotiating their own spaces and places, including the urban ones. The capital town, Tehrān, a true microcosm and social barometer of the whole country, represents a perfect case study, allowing us to verify progresses and/or regressions in the relationship between urban spaces and disadvantaged/vulnerable genres, not only those related to women, but also for the LGBTIQ people.

Keywords: Iran, Tehrān, urban spaces, vulnerable groups, gender studies, LGBTIQ, women, Islamic Republic.
