The paper intends to explore the peculiarities of the orange economy, a new type of economy. It realizes a radical change of economic modality, not only about the approach of the economy, but, also, concerning the production systems and the consumption of goods and services. It also guarantees growth and employment. In Italy, this sector has not a consolidated legal framework because of the difficulty of determining an exhaustively framing of the activities that are part of it and because of its multidisciplinarity. The policy makers are aware of the concrete possibilities of development for the country, so as the contribution to modernization of the production system, society and industry offered by the Orange economy. They have allocated adequate funding, especially through the measures of the Recovery plan. This shows how this new economy could be faced with a real turning point and it can contribute to achieving a "smart, sustainable and inclusive growth" established by the UE.
