In her novel The body knows everything; Banana Yoshimoto gives us 13 stories that build, like stages of a journey, emotions and sensations in which the body is the happy, relaxed, melancholy, sore traveler. The body is in a continuous rela-tionship with time. The body that bears in the present the signs of the past, which is the historical memory of our life and which creates the link, not always and not immediately, visible between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind.
