The Ducal Hall of the Municipality of Aosta, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, is decorated with frescoes depicting the most important figures in the history of the Aosta Valley and a scene with a medieval setting, the entry into the city of the Green Count. The analy-sis of the images and their comparison with those of the hall of the bishop's palace in Aosta reveal important aspects of the ideology of the Valle d'Aosta ruling class of the period, both secular and religious.
