This contribution stems from Santo Di Nuovo’s target article on the training of psycholo-gists involved in the field of child protection, especially in the light of the “qualifying” re-form of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology. The reflections of the reform give rise to various considerations concerning both the structure of the training offer and the methods of managing the practical-evaluative activities envisaged by the revision of the study plans. We will therefore focus above all on second-level training, the one most affect-ed by the reform device, articulating the considerations both on the teachings and on the topics that can be considered crucial for a professional psychologist who will deal with child protection and adolescence, and on some proposals so that the guidelines of the or-ganization of the Practical Evaluation Internship can be declined – within the degrees of freedom determined by the legislation – in such a way as to represent a real opportunity for the first operational “field engagement” by Master’s graduates.

Keywords: child and adolescent protection, psychological training, qualifying degrees, practi-cum, and internship.
