Is social withdrawal something that concerns all of us? Reflection on hikikomori inspired by a contemporary film

The author proposes the film 1000 Arten Regen zu beschreiben as an inspiration to get to know the issues of a family living with a socially withdrawn child. The author then proposit that the specificity of the experience of social withdrawal doesn’t lie in social isolation per se but in the internal representation of objects witch are both invasive, critical and unavailable for positive mirroring. The author proposes then the those experiences in witch one wishes to master and limit the presence of an object are the ones the allow us more easily to identify with these patients, when we think of common human experiences
