Cultural changes taking place within society require the psychotherapist to an ongoing reflection and debate about clinical tools, both enhancing their flexibility, and extending the area of care. The APG association, looking at the group as a therapeutic tool, has initiated a theoretical and clinical reflection which examines the connections between the couple or family link and the group link. What differences do we find in the analyst’s mind and in the interpersonal space between analyst and patients, in group, family and couple settings? What dimensions may they have in common? We intend to share how the group apparatus we have experienced, together with the group work in which we share our clinical experiences and theoretical studies, are orienting the way we think and work. We think that group training can help us to understand and treat family and couple relationships, as opening up to new types of links is enriching our work in group and individual settings.
