Starting from clinical situations experienced in the constest of her profession as a psychiatrist, the author initiates a reflection on the hallucinatory and its possible outcomes. Following a path opposite to that proposed by the authors who, by hypothesizing the mechanisms of childhood mind development, paved the way for the treatment of severe adult pathologies, she observes severe pathological situation by comparing these cases with psychoanalytic literature. The work focuses on the exact moment preceding psychotic breakdown, when there is a threat to the integrity of the Ego and an attempt by the mind to hold toghether perceptions end meanings through possible defense mechanisms. The paper aims to demonstrate how an episode of decompensation on the hallucinatory side, when viewed from a psychoanalitic perspective, can become a fertile creative act even in the psychiatric filed, and how the presence of such a mechanism within the psychiatrist’s mind can provide a field for observation and research regarding the structure and primitive functioning of the mind.
Keywords: hallucinatory, hallucination, splitting-projection, primitive states od the mind, relationship.
