This article explores how gender-based digital violence is represented, framed, and communicated on Instagram, focusing on news and infotainment profiles targeting youth audiences. Drawing on literature that conceptualizes gender-based violence as a structural and continuous phenomenon across online and offline spaces and using a mixed-methods approach applied to eight Italian profiles, the study investigates the visibility, relevance, and discursive strategies through which the issue is addressed. The analysis also examines the role of digital-native media in shaping public discourse on gender-based digital violence, highlighting problematic dynamics that emerge from current representational practices.

Keywords: gender-based digital violence, cyberviolence, news journalism, platforms, Instagram framing.
