The article explores the political fallout of the American Revolution in the French Caribbean. The research will demonstrate through new sources that the uprising of the British Thirteen Colonies contributed significantly to the economic and political reflection of the colonists of the French West Indies, to the renegotiation of relations between the colonies and the metropole and to the consolidation of the French- American identity of the planter elite.
