This paper aims to analyze how the Italian space act, Law n. 89 of 13 June 2025, could affect the space projection of Italy in the European and global context. The analysis focuses on the importance of adopting a space act at this time and on the righteous approach of seeking public-private synergy; and it expresses doubts about the non-incorporation of reciprocal waivers of liability clauses along the contractual chain, the “democratic precondition” and the non-regulation of the exploitation of the resources of celestial bodies. Novelties at European level are also critically analyzed, especially the proposal for an EU Space Act
