1943, lo sbarco in Sicilia. Studi su una guerra, edited by Tommaso Baris and Manoela Patti, interprets the Allied invasion as a crucial moment in a longer process marked by the crisis of the Fascist imperial project, the collapse of State authority and the redefinition of political and institutional structures in Sicily. Particular attention is paid to the island as a testing ground for occupation policies, humanitarian intervention and the dynamics of political realignment in the early postwar period.
