Il lavoro si propone di esplorare la dimensione attuale della Teoria dell’Attaccamento nel contesto culturale contemporaneo. L’autore evidenzia gli aspetti profondi condivisi dalla teoria dell’attaccamento con la psicoanalisi, il cognitivismo e l’orientamento sistemico. Relativamente a quest’ultimo mette in risalto la comune valorizzazione delle esperienze e delle relazioni "reali" come matrice dello sviluppo psicologico del bambino. Emerge, rispetto alla teoria dell’attaccamento, una visione di questa a "ponte" tra i diversi indirizzi. In questo senso si attiva come un ponte dalle molteplici direzioni, innanzi tutto verso l’interno di ciascun modello, stimolando una ricerca originale di connessioni tra "realtà esterna" e "mondo interno"; poi è un ponte che si costruisce tra modelli psicoterapeuti diversi sollecitando la ricerca e le intersezioni.
