The essay comments on an evaluation experience of the National Ecovillage Transition Program promoted by the Government of Sene-gal as part of a development cooperation project (2011/2016). To em-brace the complexity of the topic, a mixed evaluation approach is fol-lowed using a theatre-forum technique. Ecological and sociotechnical transition processes, differently inspired by endogenous perspectives, are underway in Senegal. Using a multidimensional exploratory analysis, a set of 'transition practices' is identified and, therefore, compared. Although limited to a specific African region, the results enable re-flection on the meaning of contemporary ecological challenges and highlight how coexistence of multiple endogenous perspectives enriches the 'Africa-World' message.
