This article explains, based on the concept of public health, what has happened and is happening in terms of live-ability, environment and welfare of citizens with the metaphor of a city-body, with its manifestations of illness and rehabilitation. It is argued that urban planning is a social determinant of health, with which rethinking and redefining strategies to implement practical actions of public health.
