The life experiences of the three American singer-songwriters Jim Croce, Paul Simon, and James Taylor, although quite different from each other, have in common psychological fragility and inner suffering, as well as a remarkable ability to face traumas in a resilient way by means of their art. This paper, starting from the biographical accounts of the three artists, wants to provide some possible keys to interpret, on a pedagogical and developmental level, family and social relational dynamics such as: the relationship with parents and significant adult figures; the differences between sociocultural backgrounds and family educational styles; the risks of the impact of notoriety and success on personality development in adolescence, as well as the way in which these people and adolescents.
