The monographic section of «Passato e presente» explores the history and evolution of the Olympic Winter Olympic Games, paying particulary attention to those in Cortina in 1956, examining their political, diplomatic, environmental, and economic dimensions. Through case studies and interdisciplinary approaches, it highlights growing international interest in these mega-events and Italy’s role in hosting them. The aim is to broaden the historiographical debate and encourage new research on a still underexplored topic
