Intersectionality constitutes one of the most incisive and essential analytical frameworks for understanding power dynamics and inequalities in educational and social contexts. Through a qualitative study, the narrative approach highlights the extent to which vocabulary, constructs and educational practices impact lives marked by disability, and how educational, training and work experiences are shaped by constructs and prejudices linked to ableism – a specific form of discrimination that pervades every linguistic, cultural and social structure. Within this framework, narrative research, following a theoretical grounding, takes on a heuristic value that goes beyond mere data collection, but allows women, historically silenced, to have their voices heard. The study presents an analysis of narrative interviews with women with disabilities who hold professional positions and are actively involved in the civic life of their communities. Through their stories, the research reveals how self-narration becomes the primary tool for dismantling stereotypical representations, offering new models of active citizenship and democratic participation.
