TDV is a pervasive problem among young adolescents involving boys and girls as both perpetrators and victims. Very few studies have been carried out in Europe and Italy, and fewer have focused on gender differences in the different types of TVD. To this aim, an exploratory study was carried out involving 70 girls aged between 15 and 17 years (M = 15.61, SD = 0.64), aimed at investigating whether the differ-ent types of TDV acted and suffered, bullying, cognitive and affective empathy, witnessing do-mestic violence, childhood abuse, and perceived levels of social support were asso-ciated with engagement as the perpetrator in relational TDV behaviors. The results show that the perpetration of relational TDV is associated with relational and physi-cal TDV victimization, high levels of affective empathy, and childhood abuse. Per-petration of relational TDV is also significantly and negatively associated with physi-cal TDV acted. The results are discussed in terms of practical implications.
