Teoria dell'attaccamento e studi cross-culturali: una rassegna - The attachment theory (Bowlby, 1969; 1973; 1980; Ainsworth, 1964, 1973, 1979, 1993; Robertson, 1953) which examines a child's ability to build specific bonds of affection with significant others , both useful and suitable for survival in the environment, constitutes one of the most acknowledged references in the field of infant development theory and is currently one of the most studied and tested criteria of present day research. The multiethnic, multicultural evolution which is a feature of our society has encouraged many comparative studies regarding methods of caring and education in diverse cultural contexts, and has promoted a great deal of thought about the present day application of the attachment theory model in different cultural contexts as well as the specific analysis of maternal sensitivity within this context of diverse kinds of caring.
