Since 1990 Imprese e storia, the Italian Business History Association‘s journal, represents a forum for learning and discussion on business history. We believe that a scientific journal is made by the community of scholars who gather around it and who bring it to life with their research and commitment. Following this line of reasoning, the primary purpose of Imprese e Storia is to make available to the scholarly community the research that Italian and international scholars are conducting into a variety of themes falling within the ambit of business history, notably the historical analysis of forms and types of enterprises, corporate organization and strategy, entrepreneurship, technology, business culture and labor relations. In line with the original concept of the journal, clearly stated by its first editor Duccio Bigazzi, special attention is given to the issues and developments in the field of business archives. Imprese e Storia also aims to be an arena for scholars interested in the interaction between business and the surrounding social, cultural, institutional and political context, as well the relationship between business and the macro-economic environment, following an approach that does not conceive business history as an academic niche but as a multidisciplinary discipline capable to engage other social sciences on an equal footing. Imprese e Storia welcomes articles in English, French, Italian and Spanish. All research articles in this journal are rigorously peer reviewed, based on initial editor screening and anonymized reviewing by at least two referee.
