The return of internal migration flows occurred during the second half of the 90s involved the most educated and skilled labour force as well as a significant share of workers with lower levels of education generally employed in industry and construction sector. From this perspective the involvement of low-skilled labour force represents the embedding of a traditional component of the domestic migration flows into the recent ones. The article aims at analyzing this traditional component which experienced changes related to contractual terms, occupational categories and mobility conditions even in those sectors where historically workers have been experiencing higher protection standards in terms of labour condition and stability.
Keywords: Internal migration flows, low skilled labour force, industrial sector, protection standard, labour market
