The author investigates the relationship between Neapolitan and Sicilian ceramics in the Aragonese age. The art of ceramics from Muslim Sicily flows into the Norman-Swabian era in the peninsula. An important role in the dissemination of knowledge of the products of southern Italy was played by the fairs, established by Emperor Frederick II of Swabia starting from 1234. That of Viterbo (1240), in particular, was strategic in promoting the knowledge of southern pottery in the central and northern regions.
