The transcription of parchment 64 of the Biondi-Mirabella collection of the Civica-Recupero library of Catania brings to light the testament of fourteenth-century religious of Paternò, named Costanza da Pistoia, who, probably benedictine, but close for various signs to the Franciscan sensibilities, chooses to leave her property to the double monastery of S. Nicola l’Arena and S. Maria di Licodia, reconfirming with this act a previous donation to the same religious subject. The reader who will have the willingness to approach the text will be able to get an idea of the human ties woven between the testator and her referential affective world, the religious mentality and the interests that guided her in the choices made near the transition, the relationships with the city and territory of the class of landowners to which she belonged.

Keywords: benedectins, franciscan, S. Nicola l’Arena monastery, last will, Catania, donation.
