The voice of the Europe that, in ten years (1991-2001, the ten years of the MittelFest of Cividale del Friuli), has been transformed, divided and multiplied. Twenty texts to give shape, on the stage, to a map of different geographies, languages, and cultures, but all connected by the same destiny.
Twenty microdramas, each only a few minutes long, to tell the story, or rather ther microstory, of this decade in Europe.
Mittelfest si tiene dal 1991 a Cividale del Friuli, ed è, a livello internazionale, l'unico festival multidisciplinare (teatro, musica, danza, poesia e marionette, con escursioni nel cinema e nelle arti visive) dedicato all'Europa centro orientale.
I 20 testi pubblicati sono stati commissionati e messi in scena in un unico grande spettacolo per l'edizione 2001.
Mittelfest has been held since 1991 at Cividale del Friuli and, at the international level, it is the only multidisciplinary festival (including drama, music, dance, poetry and puppets, with the occasional excursus into the cinema and the visual arts) dedicated to central-eastern Europe.
The 20 texts published here were commissioned and staged in a single large show for the 2001 edition.
